Marie Claire's Head of Fashion Affiliate, Emily Ferguson visited Awin headquarters to discuss Black Friday and the benefits of affiliates.

1. What does TI Media do as a business, and what makes you an exciting company?
Our vast reach across multiple sectors: from technology, fashion and homes. We also work across more specialist titles such as golfing and Horse and Hound. We reach 28 million people globally a month on our digital platforms and I’m lucky enough to work with some of the most talented, creative people in publishing.
2. What added benefit does affiliate marketing bring to your business and the brands that you work with?
We are very much at the bottom of the funnel when it comes to user’s decision making, it facilitates the customer journey and allows us to get exclusives from retailers and create innovative marketing campaigns, whatever the brand’s KPI’s.
3. What is the most exciting time of year for you as a business?
Each quarter brings different highlights; this year Q1 was the most exciting, we started working on the Marie Claire Edit about March time so it’s been a long process of developing the business model both for both advertising and affiliates to expand our digital reach. Creating the right technologies, hiring the right team and working together to build a site that was in keeping with the Marie Claire brand and ethos has been really exciting. We also worked heavily on Trusted Reviews perfecting our comparison technology to deliver the best customer service experience. The last 6 months of year are usually crazy for us implementing campaigns, working with brands on exclusives and delivering over 10m plus worth of sales for retailers.
4. What are your predictions for 2018 Black Friday, and how are you preparing for it as a business?
We have been preparing for over six months, we have some exciting new partners for Black Friday this year, but that is all I’m allowed to say, but we expect to see an even bigger uplift year. It’s a very exciting time for us.
5. What does TI Media do to create long lasting relationships with their affiliate partners?
I get out to meet a lot of clients on a daily basis, so I guess that is the most important element along with constantly innovating what we do, for example our black Friday offering this year to brands is a testament to how far we have come as a business in the last year.
6. What are your plans for 2019?
Further develop the Marie Claire Edit across advertising and affiliates.
