I am an account executive at Awin in Key Account Management. For me, the role involves working alongside the John Lewis account manager and campaign assistant as well as managing my own accounts on the John Lewis Finance programmes (Insurance, Partnership Cards, Personal Loans). My typical week involves reporting, monthly and quarterly reviews, client calls, booking in exposure alongside client campaigns, post campaign analysis, attending agency and client meetings as well as a variety of admin tasks. I have also more recently taken on a project focusing on the whole John Lewis Partnership (Retail, Finance, Waitrose) and working together to align campaigns and run exposure that includes each of the products. As one of the client’s key strategies, I have enjoyed working on this to ensure we utilise these opportunities.
I started at Awin as a campaign assistant two and a half years ago and during this time have been able to work across three different sectors as well as work with some big brands. The move up to account executive enabled me to have greater responsibility, work closely with the clients as well as gain experience in managing my own accounts through the John Lewis Finance programmes. I have been able to learn a lot within this role, working closer with the account manager and being able to support across multiple different tasks that I would not have supported on in my previous role. Within my role, organisation and time management is important. I have also been able to develop my reporting and forecasting skills as well as my knowledge within the affiliate marketing industry and the tools and technology that Awin offer. I have also been able to work closer with various publishers. An account executive role is a big learning curve and with planned training or catch ups with colleagues you are really able to improve your knowledge and develop new skills that prepare you for the next step.
What I like most about Awin is having a great team of people to work with and being able to learn from others' experience, who have also worked through the different roles. At Awin there is a lot of support provided by people at all levels to help you gain the best training and make the most of the roles you fulfil. Whilst working hard, there is also a sense of community at Awin which I love. People generally have a passion to further their experience and learn more about the industry at Awin and get the most out of it. There is a lot to do to ensure that we provide a high level of service to clients, so whilst we all work really hard to provide this, we also have lots of fun at Awin and are able to enjoy ourselves at company events and after work drinks.
