Hi, my name is Olivia and I'm an Account Executive in Key Accounts. The Account Executive role is one which varies across the department depending on your team and the accounts you look after. In my case, it involves working alongside the LateRooms.com and Topman Account Managers to grow both programmes and support client objectives. My typical week involves reporting, client calls, booking in exposure in line with client campaigns, sourcing new opportunities, providing post-campaign analysis, and a number of essential admin tasks.
I started off as a Campaign Assistant about 14 months ago; in this time I’ve had the chance to work with a range of well-known brands in the fashion and travel sectors and get an insight into their wider strategy. I found the move to Account Exec to be a great step up, as I have increased responsibility, with ownership over certain aspects of the accounts, and the chance to work closely with colleagues who have a huge wealth of knowledge and experience working with affiliates.
This potential for progression within Awin makes it a great place to develop a career. With drive, motivation, eagerness to learn and genuine curiosity, there are no real limits to what you can do. It is one endless learning curve, with plenty of opportunity and encouragement to improve your skills and knowledge, whether through planned training sessions or catch ups with colleagues, meaning every day I feel I get a little bit better at my job. The transferrable skills you develop are invaluable; I sometimes feel like I’m on a not-so-crash course in digital marketing.
One of the very best aspects of working at Awin is having such a great team of people at all levels who are supportive and inspiring. Everyone on my team works hard, but we have a laugh every day and I genuinely enjoy coming to work. The positive team atmosphere means I’m happy doing my job.
Given the level of service we provide to clients, the job can be stressful at times, especially when preparing for big meetings and quarterly reviews – but the fun parts more than make up for it. I’ve had the chance to attend great industry events including client Press Days and Awin’s annual Black Tie. There are after-work drinks most weeks, Beer Fridge Fridays and the summer party in Berlin last year was unbelievable. The great balance between work and play make Awin a fantastic place to develop a career.
