Awin Launches MCP, Bringing Data Into AI Assistants

Written by Richard Towey on

Ever wanted to use Claude or ChatGPT to generate actions and insights from your Awin data? Well now you can.

Today, Awin is launching its first Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, allowing advertisers, partners, and agencies to ask questions about their Awin data directly inside an AI assistant.

Our users can simply issue a prompt within agents like Claude or ChatGPT and get an answer drawn from live Awin data. No writing code, handling server authentications, exporting to Excel, or custom API clients.

If you already know what an MCP is and how powerful it can be, speak to your account manager to get it live. If you want to learn why this is happening and what it means, read on.

Bringing Awin to where your work happens

An MCP is an open-source standard that lets AI applications connect securely to outside data sources and tools.

In an era where marketers increasingly get their data and insights directly from such applications, they’re the key to generating actions based on huge, disparate datasets.

Affiliate marketing data is often just one piece of a much larger stack. Few teams have the time to log into a dashboard to retrieve it, plug it into an agent like ChatGPT or Claude, and get a response.

Our aim is to give customers the data they need to make core marketing decisions their own way. That means connecting Awin data to the tools they're already using, rather than keeping it within our platform.

Thanks to our MCP, you can now blend our data with that of other channels, making it easier to prove affiliate marketing’s value or let AI agents play a bigger role in assisting your affiliate strategy.

How can you use Awin’s MCP?

With Awin's MCP, your assistant can read from your Awin account and answer questions about it. Here are some examples of prompts and responses:

  • Advertisers can ask, "How is my account doing this month, and which partners should I be paying attention to?" and get program-level KPIs alongside a ranked list of partners, without working through multiple reports.
  • Partners can ask, "Which of my programs has the best earnings per click? Make me 15 tracking links for that advertiser." That used to mean an exported file, a pivot table, and link builder. With MCP it's one conversation.
  • Agencies can ask, "Which of my accounts are down this month? Give me KPIs for the UK advertisers only." Instead of repeating the same exports across dozens of accounts, they get a single answer across their whole portfolio.

Where does the data come from?

The MCP draws on Awin's existing API endpoints, the new ones released with it, and the knowledge behind Ava - our AI chatbot - so answers are backed by deep platform expertise rather than raw numbers alone.

Awin will continue to add endpoints throughout 2026, expanding what customers can ask.

This first release is read-only. However, future iterations will make it possible for users to pull data from Awin and make changes in our platform from their AI application.

Getting started

Provided you have admin rights on your Awin account, activating the MCP can be done within a few simple steps. Speak to your Awin account contact for more information.

The MCP itself is free and open source, though connecting an AI assistant may require a paid plan with that provider.

The Awin MCP is available globally. Advertisers on Accelerate and Advanced plans can use the MCP, as can Awin Access accounts where a user is listed on more than one Awin program.
