Getting started on Awin: Basic reporting

Written by 6 minute read

Awin offers nine different reports to help publishers better understand their performance. First, we review the basic reports available in the interface.

All Awin reports are found under the same tab in your publisher profile. To access, log into your profile, hover over the Reports tab and select your report of choice. Alternatively, click directly on the Reports tab to see a list of all available reports, with a brief description of each.

  1. Advertiser Performance
  2. Performance Over Time
  3. Creative Performance
  4. Click References
  5. Transactions
  6. Product Performance
  7. Commission Group Performance
  8. Device Performance
  9. Payment

Date range options include TodayWeekMonth, or Year.  Whichever of these options you select is what the report will generate. To change the data shown across a time period, simply update the date range and the report will refresh.

These reports allow you to track all aspects of your activity on the Awin network through multiple, different views. Furthermore, each report allows for filtering and customization of the data shown to get an accurate representation of exactly what you are looking for.

Advertiser Performance report

The Advertiser Performance report details the performance of advertisers you are promoting, and lets you see who your top advertisers are over certain time periods. This is useful in determining which advertiser partnerships are successful and which ones you may want to further develop to increase performance.

To run this report:

  • Select the time period. You can either use one of the preset date ranges in the Period filter, or select Custom and set your own date range using the From and To filters
  • Select your date range: Transaction Date or Validation Date
  • Select the promotional region
  • If you would like to see only the performance of a specific advertiser, use the Advertiser filter to do so. If you do not change this filter, the report will show each advertiser you are joined to
  • Click Generate Report to refresh the data

Once the data refreshes, a pie chart showing the total quantity of sales by advertiser will be displayed, with the data for each individual advertiser below.  You can adjust which columns appear by clicking the Customize Columns button. Displayed at the bottom of the page will be the grand total of each column, broken down by transaction date.

You also have the option to see the transaction status of each individual advertiser. To display this, click on Total at the top of the table, and select your desired status (approved, pending, declined, total), or click the arrow next to each Advertiser ID to see the full breakdown for that desired advertiser.

You can export this data as an Excel or CSV file by hovering over the Options button. This file will include all available columns broken down by transaction status.

Influence report

You can edit the Advertiser Performance report to become an Influence report by customizing the report columns. To create this, run an Advertiser Performance report like you normally would, but update the columns to show the following:

  • Converted Solo
  • Converted Awin
  • Assisted Awin
  • Assisted Awin (1st)
  • Assisted Other Channel
  • Total Influence

Influence reports offer further insight into how you are influencing sales but did not drive the last click. Some advertisers will run influence campaigns and pay publishers a smaller commission for sales they influence.

Performance Over Time report

The Performance Over Time report details your performance on all programs or particular programs over a set period of time. The information and graph generated are useful for identifying long-term trends in performance, as well as assessing the results of any short-term trials and promotions that have been run.

To run this report:

  • Select the time period. You can either use one of the preset date ranges in the Period filter, or select Custom and set your own date range using the From and To filters below
  • Select what data you want to see on the line graph by choosing a statistic in the Graph Showing filter. You can choose between Impressions, Clicks, Quantity, Amount, or Commissions
  • Choose how you want the results to be grouped, either Daily, Monthly, or Yearly, from the Group Results filter
  • Select the promotional region
  • If you would like to see only the performance of a specific advertiser, use the Advertiser filter to do so.  If you do not change this filter, the stats will represent your total performance across all the advertisers you are promoting
  • Click the Generate Report button to refresh the data

Once the data refreshes, you will see a line graph reflecting the filters you set, with the Graph Showing field on the Y axis and the Group Results field on the X axis. Below, you will see the data grouped by either day, month, or year, depending on which one you selected. At the bottom of the page, are the grand totals of each column broken down by transactions status.

You also have the option to see the transaction status of each individual date group. To display this, click on Total at the top of the table and select the status you want to view, or click the arrow next to each date and see the full breakdown for that desired date group.

You can export this data as either an Excel or CSV file by hovering over the Options button.

Creative Performance report

The Creative Performance report details the performance of your creatives over a set period of time. This is useful for determining the effectiveness of individual banners, text links, or any piece of creative. You can also use this to gain insight into which types of creatives perform best overall your audience.

To run this report:

  • Select the time period. You can either use one of the preset date ranges in the Period filter, or select Custom and set your own date range using the Start Date and End Date filters
  • Select the promotional region
  • Click the Generate Report button to refresh the data
