Digital Disruptors: supporting young digital talent

Written by

This week, the 2018 Digital Disruptors programme kicked-off. In partnership with The Hebe Foundation, 40 young people are being tasked to pitch how they would use digital to bring together their community.

Set up in memory of Nicky McShane, one of our industry’s most progressive and exuberant digital marketers who sadly passed away at the end of last year, the programme aims to give young pioneers the platform to seek out the next big thing in digital.

The young people have formed teams, and will pitch their final ideas at industry conference PI: Live for a chance to win the MYDDA (McShane Young Digital Disruptors Award).

Awin hosted a workshop to teach the young people about affiliate marketing. Julie York, one of the initiative founders, said that the Awin mentor team “inspired the young people and brought affiliate marketing alive.

Eight Awin mentors hosted the Affiliate Marketing workshop. Awin Global Account Executive Rebecca said: ‘Not only did we get to share our industry insights but got to interact with brilliant young minds who had so much enthusiasm and drive. A brilliant day that I won’t forget in a hurry.’

Team Leader Dillon added that the ‘young people come in with a real appetite to learn, especially as it was during their summer holidays’ with Account Manager Angela commenting that ‘it was a privilege to work alongside a group who were so bright, engaged and eager for knowledge, they’re an absolute credit to the scheme.’

Awin will join Found, Snap, PerformanceIN, Button and vouchercloud as scheme mentors to prepare the teams for their PI: Live pitches.
