What to Expect

Expert insight

Join Awin for the day as the team take a look back at what we've learnt from 2020 so far and what it tells us about the state of digital advertising today. You'll hear first-hand from brands, publishers and tech partners of every shape and size in a series of sessions designed to inform, inspire and energise your marketing efforts in this brave new world.

Unlocking value in the affiliate channel

Over the course of two sessions Awin will unveil technology that is helping affiliate marketers to unlock even more value from the channel. From an introduction to app-tracking to understanding attribution with the help of SingleView, these sessions will ensure your programme is reaching its full potential.

Making affiliate marketing accessible

With Awin Access approaching its first year anniversary in the UK, and with a successful roll-out across several of our European regions, we speak to two advertisers to hear their experiences of the channel and offer advice to consultants, agencies and publishers who are interested in partnering with the often untapped opportunity that is the micro-SME client segment.

Awin answers

Before we close off our conference track, attendees will have the chance to have their questions answered. In a live Q&A session, Ian Charlesworth and senior members of the Awin team will open the conversation to advertisers, publishers and partners to have their voices heard in what promises to be an informative and engaging end to the day.

Affiliates, Algorithms and Attribution: A View of tomorrow, today

14:30 – 15:00

‘Half the money I spend on advertising is wasted; the trouble is I don't know which half.’ John Wanamaker (1888)

Possibly the most frustrating yet persistent quote in marketing, this comment is still cited over a century after it was first uttered and serves to neatly highlight the perennial problem: if it’s difficult to pinpoint causation then marketers will be forced to use subjective opinions about where value lies - but what happens when last-click isn’t the only game in town and what is the right way to move beyond it?

Join Awin and SingleView as we dispel common misconceptions and shine a light on the hidden value in the channel.

Ian Charlesworth, Regional Managing Director, Awin

Mark Kuhillow, Founder, SingleView

Gareth Powell, Senior Client Success Manager, SingleView

How to Get Away with Stealing Commission: App tracking edition

15:05 – 15:35

Advertisers are wilfully complicit in the greatest crime in our industry, stealing affiliate commission from in-app sales. It’s an easy narrative to sell, but it’s often an unjust one. In this session, Clementyne Lavender, Strategic Partnerships & App Tracking Specialist at Awin will be joined by Oleg Shpilev, Solutions Architect at Branch, to teach an "Introduction to App Tracking" and explain why we must look at all the preconceived notions as to why app tracking has failed to reach its full potential and the available evidence to suggest we are now at a turning point for app tracking.

Michelle will be joined by two guests to give a brief overview of their own affiliate marketing journeys, Gary Winter from facemask brand Pacamask and Dan Whytock from online marketplace for Independent High Street retailers Down Your Hight Street.
