Written by 2 minute read

Weather2Travel.com find the best travel deals for holidays in the sun, providing a range of online tools.

Helping users decide where to go for great holiday weather, Weather2Travel work with the UK's largest travel providers to share online deals and discounts. As one of our attendees at The Science Behind Ecommerce, we speak to Colin Carter, Director at Weather2Travel.com ahead of the big event.

It’s great to see Weather2Travel.com has secured a space for The Science Behind Ecommerce, what are you hoping to gain from the event?

It’s always interesting when a new perspective is put forward, and this event sounds like it offers just that. From our point of view at Weather2Travel.com, we hope to possibly gain insight from an alternative angle, and look forward to hearing what the expert speakers have to say in relation to online publishing, affiliate relationships, and user experience. On top of this, we are always keen to meet new travel brands as well as nurture existing relationships, and these events provide a great platform for such networking.

How important is it for you as a travel publisher to attend events like this?

The travel industry is generally quite innovative, so as a travel publisher it’s vital to keep up-to-date with the latest technological advancements. In particular, this event seems to delve a little deeper, beyond the day-to-day function, and into the theory of how and why users interact in certain ways. Operating as a travel publisher, it’s crucial for us to understand as much as possible about our users’ intentions so that we can meet that demand, see a return from increased conversation, and – ideally – boost user loyalty to our brand.

What can brands hope to discuss with you on the day?

Collaboration is at the heart of our affiliate relationships with travel brands. It shouldn’t be a one sided affair: we like to work with innovative and dynamic brands to help share their product(s) far and wide. We pride ourselves on creating original, authentic content, and believe that this is the only real way to engage and retain loyal users. We would hope to discuss the various ways we in which we could work with likeminded travel brands to create and share impactful content together online.

The thing I look forward to most about networking is…

The chance to catch up, discuss, and debate current trends and issues with colleagues old and new from across the online travel industry.
