Getting started on Awin: Advanced reporting

Written by 4 minute read

In the second portion of our new publisher training series, we review the advanced reports availble to affiliates in the Awin interface.

Click References report

The Click References report gives you the ability to track the sale back to the exact link the visitor used to find that advertiser. This is useful for tracking the performance of one specific link.

To run this report:

  • Select the time period. You can either use one of the preset date ranges in the Period filter, or select Custom and set your own date range using the From and To filters
  • Choose a specific advertiser, or leave it blank to see all advertisers
  • Select the promotional region
  • If you would like to see a specific click ref, enter it in the Filter by Click Ref field
  • Click the Generate Report button to refresh the data

You can now see the stats for each individual click ref that you have used. You can export this data as either an Excel or CSV file by hovering over the Options button.

Device Performance report

The Device Performance report lets you compare the performance of different devices consumers use to make a purchase. This can be used to identify what devices your audience is using the most, and is helpful if your promotional strategies or methods differ for desktop versus smartphones versus tablets.

To run this report:

  • Select the time period. You can either use one of the preset date ranges in the Period filter, or select Custom and set your own date range using the From and To filters
  • Choose the metric you want to see displayed in your pie chart by selecting an option from the Graph Metric filter, either Number of Sales, Clicks, Sale Amount, or Commission
  • Select which device and operating system you would like to see data for using the Device and Device OS filters (Note: You must have a device selected to filter by operating system. If you are viewing all devices, you will view all operating systems as well)
  • Select what transaction types you would like to see, or leave it blank to see all
  • Click the Generate Report button to refresh the data

Once the data refreshes, displayed will be a pie chart illustrating the share of performance by device, either personal computer, smartphone, tablet, other, or cross device. Below the graph, the data broken down by device for each advertiser. At the bottom of the page aregrand totals of each column broken down by device. You can export this data as either an Excel or CSV file by hovering over the Options button.

Commission Group Performance report

The Commission Group Performance report shows the statistics for each individual commission group across all of your advertisers. Depending on how the advertiser has set up their commission groups, this is useful to determine which groups of products or customers you perform best with.

To run this report:

  • Select the time period. You can either use one of the preset date ranges in the Period filter, or select Custom and set your own date range using the From and To filters below
  • Choose whether you want the date range you selected to be based on Transaction Date or Validation Date
  • Select the promotional region
  • If you would like to see only the performance of a specific advertiser, use the Advertiser filter to do so. If you do not change this filter, the report will show each advertiser you are joined to
  • Click the Generate Report button to refresh the data

Once the data refreshes, displayed is a  pie chart showing the share of your total quantity of sales by commission group. Below, you will see the data for each individual commission group for all advertisers. At the bottom of the page are the grand totals broken down by transactions status.

You also have the option to see the transaction status of each individual advertiser. You can click on Total at the top of the table and select the status you want to view, or you can click the arrow next to each Advertiser ID and see the full breakdown for that desired advertiser.

You can a export this data as either an Excel or CSV file by hovering over the Options button. This file will include all available columns broken down into their transaction status (pending, approved, declined, and total.)
